Audition Information for Bannerettes

The CAU Bannerettes serve a multi-purpose for the Clark Atlanta University Mighty Marching Panthers Band. The Bannerettes perform with the band by holding the official banner during football game half-time, parades, some exhibitions, selected University programs, and other band appearances. Bannerettes may also serve as Band Managers providing assistance to the Band Staff during rehearsals and in the stands at games. Managerial duties are included but not limited to: organizing uniforms, distributing and collecting documents, prepping the band room, and passing out water at games.

Audition Requirements

Arrival Time
You should plan to arrive 15-20 minutes PRIOR TO the call time to allow time for your personal preparation, including changing clothes if needed. Auditions will begin promptly at the specified time.

Registration Fee
$10.00 cash audition fee.
Payable at registration. Proof of your receipt will grant entry to the audition hall.

Interview Attire
Arrive in your interview attire
-Business Casual attire (more business than casual)
-Complementary hair, jewelry, and make-up

Audition Attire
Your attire/make-up selection is at your discretion.
The attire/make-up selection should be as “performance ready” as possible.
Hair should remain secured AWAY from your face.
It all should COMPLEMENT not distract from your performance.

Solo Performance Piece
Be prepared to showcase an independently created solo performance. This performance should be no longer than 1 minute and 30 seconds long. The dance routine is at your discretion and your music should be prepared on a CD or your cell phone which will be connected to our audio equipment through your headphone jack (if your phone does not have a headphone jack please bring the necessary adaptor).
