Meet the CAU Band Staff

Mr. Torre Goodson, Assistant Director of Bands
Torre Goodson is a graduate of Albany State University, where he marched with the Marching Ram Show Band and served as Percussion section Leader and later, Percussion Tech. He also played drum set for the ASU jazz band and was principal percussion for the ASU symphonic band.  While in college, Mr. Goodson marched for Morris Brown College as a member of the Drumline, played for 2 years as a member of the GMEA all-college band, as well as serving as Principal percussion for the HBCU National Band Director's Consortium. He also holds a Master's Degree in Music Education from Boston University.

Mr. Goodson is devoted to music education full-time. His education experience includes a small private percussion studio, 7 years in Southwest Georgia as a band director at both the middle and high school levels, and a regionally sought percussion and band clinician.  He is a member of the Percussive Arts Society, National Association for Music Educators, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America.

Mr. Goodson currently serves as the band director at Douglas County High School.

  Mr. Warren Shaw, Assistant Director of Bands (Arranger/Announcer)
Mr. Warren Shaw is a native of Macon, GA and a product of Bibb County Public Schools.  After graduation, he  attended Alabama State University in the fall of 1992.  He graduated with honors in May 1997, where he served as trombone section leader for two years and band parliamentarian for one year.  After graduation, he served briefly as assistant band director at Glenn Hills High School in Augusta, GA for the fall of 1997.  After moving to Atlanta, he joined the Clark Atlanta band staff as assistant arranger in August 1998.  In 2000, he became chief arranger and added the duties of announcer in  the fall of 2007.

He is a sought after clinician and arranger for many schools across the country.  He holds memberships in Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity, Inc., Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America Inc., and HBCU National Band Directors Consortium.
